"This heaven will fade away, and the one above it will fade away as well. The deceased are not living, and the living will not die. In the days when you consumed what lacks life, you brought it to life. When you are illuminated, what will you do? On the day when you were unified, you became divided. Yet when you are divided, what will you do?"
- Jesus (Thomas 11)
This latter half of this teaching allllways flew over my head.
In the days when you consumed what lacks life, you brought it to life.
LIKE WHAATTT?!?!? THE FUCK IS JESUS TALKIN ABOUT RN!?!?!?
HOW DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!
^^ semi accurate depiction of my brain during my first 5-10 readings of this saying
But today while rereading Thomas, I decided that I wanted to stop reading ahead & truly unpack this teaching of the Master Yeshua.
I asked myself, “Now what does Jesus mean by this?”
And after setting my intention I moved to a state of rest & passive contemplation.
Putting out my intention via question (the masculine principle) & opening myself up to the Omniscience of God, the answer came to me by being in an attracting state of rest/contemplation, a detached desire if you will (the feminine principle).
Contemplation is an interesting topic, I want to teach it because it’s such a potent practice for spiritual growth, philosophical/intellectual insight, or even creative epiphany, however I’ve struggled with articulating it in depth.
Gonna contemplate that one ;)
Via intention & contemplation I hit a spark of insight on the story at play in this teaching, a story of being divided, returning to unity, & falling back down to separation.
I was able to pull the deeper cosmic truths, foundational principles of reality, from these stories.
Principles of reincarnation, law of attraction, & the rhythmic nature of the soul’s evolutionary journey.
ALLLL THAT packed into 6 sentences.
Jesus was truly a spiritual philosopher like no other.
And I defffff cooookkked with this commentary can’t lie.
Enjoy :)
Here’s a lil contemplation 101 rq tho
Step uno - choose subject for contemplation
Could be a word (love, wisdom, truth, beauty, polarity, etc), could be a phrase or a teaching like this case, it could also be a question that you want to unlock answers to.
What is God? What is life? Why does polarity exist? WHO IN THE EVER LIVING FUCK AM I?!?!??!?!?!?!??!
We especially feel that last one am I right?
Step dos - set intention
Tell the Universe what you would like to receive via this contemplation.
Could be deeper philosophical/intellectual insight, could be clarity on a unknown subject/area, could be the solution to a problem or how to overcome a creative wall.
Literally anything.
Step tres - be open to receiving
As we contemplate we tap into the Omniscience of God & open ourselves
However we won’t get those answers we desire without making space for the answers to come.
Take the headphones off, put the phone away, & just be with your being.
Go within yourself & extract the wisdom that’s encoded in your body to guide you.
The more you contemplate you find yourself being able to set greater intentions which leads you to greater clarity & deeper insight.
Contemplation is a key practice of the mystic & philosopher (& the artist, & the entrepreneur, & the scientist, & basically anyone else who solves problems (aka everyone)) & has EASILY been the tool to help me gain greater metaphysical, mystical, psychological, creative, & entrepreneurial awareness.
Try it out :)
Do it today. Be better for it tomorrow.
Stay devoted. Stay inspired.
